Climate change and environmental pollution have garnered a lot of attention for their effects on urban development and human's lives. Many scholars are dedicated to discovering effective answers to these problems and helping to preserve urban ecology. Furthermore, as urbanization progresses, urban development and management have become one of the primary topics of academic research. Understanding the existing state of urban development, identifying the problems that occur in urban development and management, and suggesting appropriate answers are critical to fostering urban growth. This issue discusses common urban environmental and climate challenges, as well as urban management and development problems, and offers solutions to encourage sustainable urban development and raise people's living standards. Planting trees can effectively combat urban climate change, but selecting the right tree species is critical. People's lives require energy, and developing an environmentally friendly energy source will not only meet people's requirements but also enhance city sustainability. With the rapid development of cities, problems such as land development and housing become increasingly important to people and have an impact on city management and development. With the rapid advancement of technology, the integration of ecological cities and scientific technologies, such as artificial intelligence, has the potential to successfully support multifaceted city development while also benefiting humanity. This issue provides solutions to the various problems mentioned above, and it is hoped to provide a reference for scholars in related fields and contribute to the sustainable development of cities.
