Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Recent developments in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), big data (BD), blockchain technology (BT), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), cloud computing platform (CCP), quantum computing (QC), cybersecurity (CS), and information and communications technology (ICT) have facilitated the transition from traditional computer-aided industry to the AR/VR-driven Metaverse ecosystem. When it comes to linking the cyberspace of computing systems and virtual worlds, the integrated technologies of IoT and AI play a crucial part in this paradigm change. The logistics, food, and manufacturing sectors are just some of the many businesses that can benefit from AR/VR technology. The Internet of Things (IoT) is being developed to decrease machine downtime, boost productivity, and streamline processes. IoT is distinguished by its decentralized AR/VR systems, heterogeneous AR/VR data, diverse systems and AR/VR devices, and complicated networks. As a result, the Metaverse ecosystem faces many difficulties, such as inadequate resources for AR/VR devices, insufficient compatibility amongst AR/VR systems, and a plethora of security and privacy holes. The fields of computer vision, natural language processing, speech recognition, etc. have all benefited from recent AR and VR applications. Moreover, the combination of AR/VR with AI-based IoT technologies has made a significant breakthrough and technical direction toward achieving high efficiency and adaptability in a wide range of new applications, including smart wearable devices in healthcare, smart automotive industry, recommender systems, and financial analysis. Meanwhile, novel networking strategies, such as new architectures and performance models for the Metaverse ecosystem, are used to enable Quantum-based applications, making network design and optimization for Metaverse applications a complementary topic. While quantum computing's profusion of new application domains is exciting, the complex nature of the Metaverse's ecosystem of devices, protocols, communication channels, architectures, big data, and middleware presents a number of obstacles.

Concepts, methods, technologies, models, designs, statistics, implementations, and maintenance are only some of the topics covered in this special issue about the Metaverse ecosystem. In order to construct the Metaverse ecosystem, you will train and assess models of varying complexity using real-world technologies including smart devices, virtual systems, Internet of Things (IoT)-based technologies, AI-centric solutions, smart sensors, and the Telecom network. The goal of this special issue is to call the manuscripts related to the most up-to-date empirical research findings in the fields of smart devices, smart solutions, smart cities, etc., as well as important concepts, theoretical frameworks, developing technologies, analytics approaches, and novel models. Professionals who wish to learn more about the strategic role of trust in the global communication, economy, education, and organizations as actors in the Metaverse ecosystem are the intended audience for this work. This special issue will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement state-of-the-art AR/VR/AI/IoT/Cybersecurity/Cloud app solutions to today's most pressing Metaverse challenges.
