Dear Colleagues,

Metaverse is the inevitable product of the development of internet, artificial intelligence, internet of things, cloud computing/edge computing, 5G/6G, privacy computing, blockchain, virtual reality and other technologies to a certain stage. It is the accumulation of emerging technologies and the real world parallel, mapping each other's complex virtual world and digital world, but also the future of social multi-application development of the new ecology. In the virtual world of the Metaverse, the degree of digitization is much higher than that of the real world. The spatial structure, scene and subject outlined by digital technology cannot be separated from the strong support of the information infrastructure dominated by computing, network, storage, XR terminal equipment, data and algorithm.

In this issue, we will focus on the information infrastructure for the Metaverse. We are looking forward to seeing different views expressed by different scholars from different countries. This special issue solicits the following topics, but not limited to:
