Outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism have been affected by shifting social, economic, technological, and ecologicalfactors, whilst emphasising the pertinent need for climate change adaption mechanisms for long-term tourism planning.

As stakeholder groups (tourists, local communities) are involved in outdoor leisure experiences and nature-based tourism, equitable opportunity provision, cultural differences in desired experiences, and impediments to outdoor recreation, all add to the complexity of sustainable and inclusive tourism service delivery.

Such challenges in sustainable outdoor recreation and smart tourism may indicate the need for new approaches to service delivery, cultural change among service providers and natural space management, and unique approaches to inclusive governance and shared stewardship.

Contributors are encouraged to join the ongoing discussion regarding the influence of smart tourism experiences on ecologically-responsible behaviour of nature-based tourists, highlighting theoretical and practical implications for sustainable smart tourism and outdoor leisure and recreation.

The purpose is to look at the connections between ecologically-responsible tourism, outdoor and nature-based recreation, and smart technologies.

We accept research ideas on the following topics, but not exclusively:

-Accessibility:

How might physical and digital accessibility and mobility improve the effectiveness of barrier-free and inclusive outdoor recreation spaces?

-Sustainability:

How can smart tourism contribute to the preservation and improvement of natural resources (including ecologically-friendly measures?

Is the city using resource - saving measures and activities to mitigate or adapt to climate change?

How can smart tourism strategies reduce tourism seasonality, diversify leisure services, and engage local populations in outdoor recreation?

-Digitalisation:

How can smart technologies provide novel tourism and hospitality information, goods, and services for outdoor recreation places and visitors' leisure experiences that are tailored to their demands via ICT- based solutions and digital tools?

-Cultural heritage and Innovation:

How can outdoor recreation facilities employ local cultural assets in innovative ways to enhance smart tourism experiences?

What measures are taken to recognise and incorporate art, history, and culture's physical and intangible legacy into outdoor leisure activities?
