Special Issue Information

In our journal Pollution Study, a special issue is calling for papers about air pollution.

During my Ph.D. period at Peking University, the air quality used to cast a psychological shadow on me. I couldnt breathe smoothly six days out of a week. I got a fever three days out of a week. The building opposite the street was always invisible. My clothes were always easy to get dirty. My desk was always dusty no matter how many times I cleaned it every day. The N95 mask was always on my face even if there wasnt COVID19 those years. I even wore swimming glasses to isolate my eyes from the air because the eyes were always tickling. The fact I described was not exaggerated at all. From time to time, I thought of death as if it was the end of the world when the value of AQI was greater than about 300. However, the value was often greater than 1000. In recent years, air quality has improved by a huge step, but I still refuse to recall that scene now.

There is no doubt that air pollution is a disaster for mankind and other creatures. Air pollution is the largest environmental risk to the publics health, contributing to cardiovascular disease, lung cancer and respiratory diseases. The United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26 showed great concern for air pollution, too.

In this special issue, we are willing to call for papers about air pollution. All related topics are welcome, such as the causes of air pollution, the solutions to air pollution, the effects of air pollution, the diseases caused by air pollution, climate change, etc.
