Special Issue Information

In our journal Eco cities, a special issue is calling for papers about the evaluation and assessment of eco-cities.

In eco-cities construction, it is essential to establish eco-cities evaluation systems. There are many evaluation methods on eco-cities such as analytic hierarchy process (AHP), expert scoring method (Delphi), factor decomposition method, principal component analysis (PCA) method, etc. The system mainly contains two stages: Index selection and index weight calculation. Index selection methods are mostly divided into the model and non-model analysis methods. And index weight calculation methods can be divided into subjective assignment methods and objective assignment methods.

In this special issue, we invite theoretical and applied cutting-edge research on contributions to the assessment and evaluation of eco-city construction. Six well-known assessment methods for the environment and sustainability evaluation, namely, input-output analysis (IOA), life-cycle analysis (LCA), ecological footprint (EF), carbon footprint (CF), emergy analysis (EmA) and cost-benefit analysis are mainly suggested but not limited to. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. Such integration can solve the problems that every single method is facing so that valuable policy insights can be identified for urban decision-makers to prepare more appropriate urban strategies.

We humbly welcome articles from all over the world written in all languages.
