Special Issue Information

In our journal Cardiac and Cardiovascular Research, a special issue is calling for papers about the monitoring technology used in cardiac and cardiovascular diseases.

Continuous cardiac monitoring is useful for capturing irregular heartbeats that happen infrequently- sometimes you may not even feel any symptoms. It is used to either identify or point out a heart rhythm disorder. The doctor may recommend continuous heart monitoring to assist in the diagnosis of health conditions, such as unexplained fainting, unexplained stroke, heart palpitations, and atrial fibrillation. 

Cardiac and cardiovascular monitoring also assists treatment directly. For example, advanced cardiovascular monitoring is one of the foundations of optimizing hemodynamic treatment in critically ill patients prone to cardiocirculatory failure. Cardiac preload simultaneously measuring enables the diagnosis of hypovolemia and hypervolemia. An ideal cardiac output monitor should be reliable, continuous, noninvasive, and operator independent. The response time should be fast.

Common types of cardiac monitoring systems include Holter monitor, event recorder, mobile cardiac telemetry (MCT) and insertable cardiac monitor (ICM). 

We sincerely call for papers on cardiac and cardiovascular monitoring. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following: monitoring cases in diseases, monitoring technology, cost-efficiency of the monitors, cardiac monitoring procedure, cardiac monitoring indications, etc.
