Section Collection Information
Dear Colleagues,
Over the past half century, biomaterials have rapidly emerged and provide essential contributions in the field of biomedicine. A biomaterial, whether biodegradable or not, is now defined as a substance that has been engineered to interact with biological systems for medical utilization, coving therapeutics, diagnosis, tissue engineering, etc. Biomaterials Section is an international issue exploring the academic science and their clinical translation of biomaterials. The aim is to give the peer-reviewed opportunity of publication of original researches focusing on the most important and novel breakout facing main challenges of biomaterial application in clinic. This scope encompasses interdisciplinary fields, coving both novel design concepts and researches into the interaction with living system of biomaterials. It mainly concludes bioinspired and biomimetic materials, nano/micro-materials for therapeutic delivery, in vivo imaging and sensing, self-assembling and self-healing for medical utilization, and novel approaches of synthesis and fabrication. These topics include, but are not limited to medical devices, 3D printing and stem cells, etc.
Thus, authors are not necessary to announce the novel materials that are never explored, but importantly show the novel insight of these biomaterials in the field of biomedical application. Research articles and reviews in this area of study are welcome.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
