Dear Colleagues,

Cities of tomorrow are made of connected systems that emphasize the natural environment, self-sustaining ecosystems, promoting the well-being of citizens and communities, and efficient use of resources. They also form the characteristics of what we call Eco-Cities, which are constructed with a focus on developing green spaces, sustainable energy sources, and efficient practices. Eco-cities are also designed in specific to attain high resiliency in the living of smart technology, sustainable and connected environment, and promoting green lifestyles.

At this moment, many cities are already struggling with environmental degradation, traffic congestion, inadequate urban infrastructure, and a lack of basic services, such as water supply, sanitation, and waste management. Increasing population and uncontrolled growth of modernization growth in cities bring negative ecological and social impacts often associated with urbanization. The challenges associated with urbanization at the city scale are substantial. Community social economics, are exposed to challenges in a number of economic problems, such as the decline of traditional industries, the rise of informal economies, and the increase in costs associated with infrastructure and services.

Green Building offers evidence-based theoretical and practical knowledge, which aids in addressing or gaining a deeper understanding of buildings, their constructions, and their collective impacts on ecosystem-friendly communities.

This section aims to promote the publication of theoretical and empirical research conducted by urban researchers from various multi and cross-disciplines such as engineering, economics, sociology, etc. The research should be focused on buildings and their impact on modernization, and their associated environmental issues. Original research papers and review articles are highly encouraged, and we eagerly await your valuable contributions.
