Dear Colleagues,

In the context of the deteriorating global environment, it has become a trend to abandon the traditional "function-oriented" urban design and shift to an "ecology-oriented" urban development and spatial layout. The "ecology" in "ecology-oriented" is a broad ecological concept that breaks through the scope of biology and includes the meaning of coordinated and sustainable development of society, nature, and economy, emphasizing the mutual coexistence of humans and nature.

Eco-cities are designed to be sustainable, low-carbon, and resilient, with a focus on reducing environmental impacts while improving quality of life for residents, and also addressing a series of problems caused in the process of urban development and spatial expansion, such as environmental degradation, waste of resources, traffic congestion, reduction of green space, and lack of public facilities.

The section Design of eco-cities aims to not noly meet current needs but aims at the future development of cities and the harmony of urban systems, seeking ways to promote the synergistic development of society, economy, and the environment, planning the land use and space of cities, and forming stable production-consumption and social-structure relationships. Original research papers and review articles are welcomed.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
