Dear colleagues,
Energy demands are increasing day-by-day due to the modernization of human civilization. In the last century, these demands were mostly fulfilled by fossil fuels. However, the use of these fossil fuels as energy sources alters climate conditions and leads to global warming. So, a sustainable and green source of energy is in focus. Recently, the concept of self-powered wearable electronic devices has emerged to meet power demands in small-powered devices sustainably. These devices are lightweight, cost-effective, stretchable, and soft. Moreover, these devices are enough to power small portable devices like smartwatches, calculators, or light-emitting diodes. The present special issue would be focused on but not limited to –
Energy harvesting to power the small portable devices
Wearable electronic devices with sustainable energy system
Energy harvesting through triboelectric or piezoelectric systems
Self-powered flexible and stretchable devices
Energy generation for remote and military applications
Mechanical and electric voltage stability in portable devices
High durability of self-powered wearable technologies
Energy harvesting mechanisms through theoretical models and new experimental techniques.
