Dear Colleagues,

The drastic changes in global climate in the new era have brought warnings to humanity. Humanity needs to reflect on the impact of ecological crises, recognize the necessity of sustainable development under severe environmental situations, respect natural laws, adhere to the concept of green development, and jointly build a civilized society. No matter which country it is, the population is highly concentrated in cities, and the most frequent socio-economic activities are also in cities. Cities have a stronger intervention in the natural environment. Therefore, how to implement the concept of green, low-carbon, and circular development, and achieve the organic unity of urban prosperity and ecological beauty is a common problem faced by all humanity.

Land is the carrier of all urban activities. How to coordinate the relationship between urban land use and ecological protection, and achieve the "three in one" economic, social, and ecological benefits is the core issue of urban ecological security and sustainable development. Therefore, this column will focus on land use issues in the process of urban economic development. Topics include but are not limited to urban land use and carbon emissions, land use conflicts, land use planning, and the interaction between urban land use and ecosystems. We warmly welcome experts and scholars to share relevant theories, methods, and practices.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
