Dear Colleagues,

The rapid evolution of information and communication technologies (ICTs) has paved the way for remarkable advancements in the field of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoTs). With the increasing penetration of IoT devices and the widespread adoption of distributed computing, novel opportunities are emerging to transform industries, cities, healthcare, education, and various other domains. In IIoTs the interconnected sensitive networked devices along with computers employed for manufacturing and energy management allow for data communication and data analysis. As a result IIoTs  facilitate improvements in productivity,  efficiency and  other economic benefits.

According to International Data Corporation (IDC) research, the number of connected IoT devices is projected to exceed 41.6 billion by 2025, with an annual growth rate of 28.7% in data production. Consequently, there is an urgent need to establish methods for handling the vast amounts of heterogeneous data generated by IoT devices and to integrate and scale the applications that operate on distributed computing components, systems, and platforms. Research domains and concerns of the IIoTs include edge computing, fog computing, machine-to-machine (M2M), mobile technologies, advanced robotics, 3D printing,  big data, RFID technology, and cognitive computing. Conclusively, the emergence of distributed control system (DCS) has enabled IIoTs which allow for a higher degree of ICT automation by leveraging remote servers for refining and optimizing the process controls.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
