Section Collection Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the Section Epidemiology, Lifestyle, and Cardiovascular Health

Cardiovascular disease constitute a class of diseases that includes: coronary artery diseases (e.g. angina, heart attack), stroke, heart failure, hypertensive heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, cardiomyopathy, abnormal heart rhythms, congenital heart disease, valvular heart disease, carditis, aortic aneurysms, peripheral artery disease, thromboembolic disease, and venous thrombosis.

Nowadays cardiovascular disease is peaking across all continents with increasing mortality and disability in low to middle income countries. The impact on health quality of life indicators continue to increase despite better understanding of disease mechanisms and the availability of sensitive laboratory tests. Innovation is key to improve adoption of healthy lifestyle changes and improved interceptive primary care services. To lower the incidence of cardiovascular disease we need novel interventions that raise awareness and accountability towards risk factor management.

This collection of articles aims to provide an opportunity to young (at heart) and novice professionals who are taking the risk to lead technology innovation for better adaptation of a heart healthy lifestyle!

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
