This editorial explores the key applications of superconducting wires and tapes in the fields of energy, healthcare, and aerospace. The author points out that the non-destructive current transmission characteristics of superconducting materials can assist in the development of fusion energy (such as MgB2 wires), reduce MRI costs, and promote the development of aerospace technology. The article emphasizes that material innovation (such as iron-based superconductivity) and process optimization are the core directions to break through the current cost and performance bottlenecks.
