Special Issue Information

In our journal Urinary and Renal Research, a special issue is calling for papers about urinary cancer.

The urinary system, or renal system, consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. Urinary cancers cover a relatively high proportion of people.

Kidney cancer, or renal cancer, is one of the ten most common types of cancer in both men and women. While small kidney tumors do not usually cause any visible signs or symptoms. Symptoms that may be caused by kidney cancer include blood in the urine, pain in one side of your back, a lump in one side of your back, feeling tired, weight loss, or a fever that does not go away and is not caused by a cold. Unlike most types of cancer, kidney cancer can usually be diagnosed without a biopsy.

Urothelial carcinoma, also known as transitional cell carcinoma (TCC), is the most common type of bladder cancer. Other bladder cancers contain squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, small cell carcinoma, and sarcoma. Some risk factors can be changed to prevent bladder cancer, such as smoking, specific chemical exposures, certain medicines or herbal supplements, arsenic in drinking water, and not drinking enough water.

In this special issue, we invite theoretical and applied cutting-edge research on cancers involving the urinary system. Potential topics include but are not limited to different urinary cancers, biopsy, medication for these cancers, prevention, surgery, and application of devices. We welcome active articles from scholars all over the world.
