Special Issue Information
Dear colleagues,
The oral microenvironment is a dynamic system influenced by a multitude of biological regulators that impact both local tissue health and systemic physiology. This Special Issue aims to investigate the molecular crosstalk between oral tissues and the rest of the body, with a focus on the regulatory roles of saliva components, microbial biofilms, inflammatory mediators, and immune signaling pathways. Submissions will explore how disruptions in oral homeostasis contribute to broader conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders. By integrating dental science with molecular biology and systemic medicine, this issue seeks to offer novel insights into how maintaining oral equilibrium supports overall health.
