Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the section collection Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease.

Cardiovascular care in paediatric medicine is a very challenging but an exciting field. Its a fairly new field that is currently generating interest particularly in some of the developing and underdeveloped nations of the world. Advances in Echocardiography and other modern technologies such as cardiac magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and cardiac CT angiography has brighten many grey areas in diagnosis and care of the cardiovascular diseases in children. However, it is worthy of note that these advanced cardiovascular care facilities are sparingly available in most of the third world countries. Social factors such as poverty and lack of political will are responsible for these limitation in advanced cardiovascular care. Furthermore, there is dearth of cutting age research in paediatric cardiovascular care. These calls of research-based evidences that will critically hasten the progress of cardiovascular care in children and to possibly influence policy makers to favourably dispose to formulating impactful decision that would be informed by the research evidences.

Thus, I am interested in collections of your valuable research papers on paediatric cardiology in general and more specifically congenital heart diseases. New evidences on diagnostic and therapeutic approach will be highly appreciated as these will hopefully shape cardiac care in children particularly in the developing nations.

For this, I look forward to receiving your strong evidence-based research and review articles from both developed and developing nations that will guide formulating hybrid of ideas in improving cardiac/ cardiovascular care in paediatric practice.

I look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.
